Our Story
Maddy and her Husband work as a team starting horses under saddle and helping ‘problems’ horses thrive. Maddy is passionate about listening to horses, using compassionate methods to problem solve difficult behavior.
Maddy loves teaching people how to help their horses and with her experience has developed methods to bring out the best in the horses she trains and let them shine.
No such thing as a quick fix!
Consistency and confidence isn’t taught in a single session
A quick fix is a simple ‘band-aid’ approach that covers up the symptoms of a problem, but does not address the underlying causes. Your horse’s ‘problem’ behaviour is the symptom, and by using methods that rely on force and punishment, the behaviour is simply masked. However, here at Whitford Equestrian, we value addressing the true cause of the issues with kindness so that ‘quick fixes’ aren’t necessary and our horses can learn to be more consistently confident.
